New Fire Station 1 Facility
NIXA FIRE PROTECTION ASKING
VOTERS FOR BOND RENEWAL
The
Nixa Fire Protection District board of directors is calling for a NO TAX
INCREASE Bond Election on April 5, 2022.
Shall Nixa Fire Protection
District issue its general obligation bonds in the amount of $6,400,000 for the
purpose of constructing, furnishing, and equipping a new fire
station; renovating, improving, and repairing existing fire stations; and
acquiring fire trucks, vehicles and other firefighting and emergency apparatus
and equipment?
This
bond will extend the district's current bond approved by voters in 2014 and
expires in 2024 to provide funds for capital expenditures including a new
ladder truck and fire station located at 1295 W. Guin Road. Those projects were
completed as promised.
This
bond renewal allows the district to continue to keep up with the growth and
demands to provide emergency medical and fire response for 38,000 people that
reside within the 53 square miles served by the fire district.
Funding
from this renewed bond will construct a new Fire Station 1, purchase new fire
apparatus, and renovate the Main Street Station into a training / community
facility, and update district headquarters.
